The Philip Moore Group of Companies suggest that brushes and brooms used directly as well as indirectly in food preparation be segregated as to their use by colour coding to prevent cross-contamination. Using a colour coded system helps the user identify each individual area of cleaning.
While there is no current legislation regarding colour coding the Philip Moore Group of Companies suggests the following allocation of colours:
